Far, far away, in a cozy corner of the big, dark, starry sky, lived a little spaceship named Comet. Comet was a shiny, silver spaceship with little, red wings. He was a great explorer. He loved to zip and zoom around the planets. But Comet had a funny, little problem. Every time his engine got a tiny bit of space dust in it, his nose cone would tickle. And he would... 'Ah... Ah... AH-CHOO!' He would sneeze. But Comet did not sneeze normal sneezes. When Comet sneezed, a shower of beautiful, glittering, sparkly stars would burst out!
The older, bigger spaceships would get grumpy. 'Comet!' they would rumble. 'Stop that! Space is supposed to be dark and quiet. You are making the galaxy too sparkly and too bright! A good spaceship is a quiet spaceship.' This made Comet feel very sad. He tried to hold his sneezes in. He would feel the tickle... 'Ah-ah...' and he would hold his breath until his engine turned red. He felt bad that he was so different. He wished he could just be a quiet, normal spaceship.
One night, Comet was exploring a part of the galaxy he had never seen before. It was very, very dark. He found a small, new planet. But the planet looked so sad. There were no stars in its sky. Its own sun was very, very old and dim. On the planet, little aliens in tiny, warm coats looked up at the empty, black sky. 'It is so dark,' they whispered. 'We wish we could see something sparkly. We wish we had a star.' Comet looked at the sad, dark planet and the sad, little aliens.
Comet knew just what to do. He flew high above the planet. He thought of the dustiest, tickle-ist thing he could. 'Ah... Ah... Ah...' He took a big, deep breath and let out the biggest, loudest sneeze of his life! 'AH-CHOO!' A giant, beautiful shower of thousands of sparkly, glittering stars erupted from his nose! The stars lit up the dark sky. They twinkled and shined. The little aliens on the planet cheered and danced! 'Stars! Our very own stars!' Comet was not a silly spaceship. He was a hero! He learned that his special, sparkly gift was a wonderful, happy thing to share.
