It was the hottest day of summer, and twins Ella and Noah had a big idea. Let's open a lemonade stand! said Ella. We can earn money to buy that board game we want.
They squeezed twenty lemons, added sugar and cold water, and stirred it all together in a big pitcher. Noah tasted it. Perfect, he said, licking his lips.
They set up a table in front of their house with paper cups and a hand-painted sign that said Best Lemonade in Town! Each cup cost fifty cents.
The first hour was slow. Only one neighbor came by. Maybe we need to do something to get more attention, said Noah, scratching his head.
Ella had an idea. She ran inside and came back with her mom's radio. They turned on some music. Then Noah started dancing and waving to cars driving by.
Soon people started stopping. They sold cup after cup. Some people even said it was the best lemonade they had ever tasted. The pitcher was almost empty.
By the end of the day, they had earned twelve dollars. That was more than enough for the board game! They high-fived each other and did a little victory dance.
That night, the whole family played the new board game together. Ella said, We should have a lemonade stand every weekend! Maybe next time we can try pink lemonade.
