Grandma gave Zara three small seeds. Plant these in the garden, she said with a smile. Take care of them every day and watch what happens.
Zara dug three little holes in the dirt. She dropped one seed into each hole and covered them gently with soil.
Every morning, Zara watered the seeds. She talked to them too. Grow big and strong! she whispered to the ground.
After a week, she saw tiny green shoots poking through the dirt. They are growing! Zara called to Grandma. Come and see!
The plants grew taller every day. Zara pulled out the weeds around them so they would have room. She was a good gardener.
One morning, Zara saw something bright and orange. A pumpkin! The seeds were pumpkin seeds all along! she said, surprised.
The pumpkins grew bigger and bigger until they were the biggest ones on the block. The neighbors came to take photos of them.
At Halloween, Zara carved her pumpkin with a big smile on its face. I grew this, she said proudly. She could not wait to plant more seeds next year.
