Once upon a time, in a grand castle, lived a beautiful princess named Snow White. She was very, very kind, and all the little animals in the forest were her friends. But she lived with the Queen, who was not kind. The Queen was angry because her magic mirror said Snow White was the most beautiful. The angry Queen told her huntsman, 'Take Snow White deep into the forest and leave her there, so she is lost.' The huntsman was a good man and did not want to hurt the kind princess. He took her to the woods and whispered, 'I am sorry, princess. You must run and hide. Run far away and be safe.'
Snow White was all alone in the big, big forest. She was very sad and a little bit scared. But soon, her animal friends came to help. The little rabbits, fuzzy squirrels, and sweet blue birds led her through the trees. 'We will help you find a safe place,' they chattered. They walked and walked until they found a tiny, little house. It was a funny, cute house. 'Who lives here?' Snow White wondered. She knocked on the tiny door, but no one answered. She peeked inside. The house was very, very messy!
Inside, Snow White saw a little table with seven little, dirty plates. There were seven little chairs and seven little, messy beds. 'Oh my,' Snow White said softly. 'These little people need help.' Because she was so kind, she started to clean. She washed the seven little plates. She swept the dusty floor. She fixed the seven little beds until they were all neat. When she was all done, she was very, very sleepy. She lay down on the little beds and fell fast asleep.
Soon, the owners of the house came home. They were seven little helpers with long beards and kind faces. They saw their clean house. 'Wow!' said one. 'Who washed my plate?' said another. Then they saw Snow White, asleep. 'Shhh!' they whispered. 'She is so beautiful.' When she woke up, she told them her sad story. The kind helpers said, 'Do not worry, Snow White. You are safe here. You can be our friend and live with us.' Snow White was so happy! She had a new, safe home and seven new, kind friends.
