Jake wiggled his tooth back and forth with his tongue. It had been loose for three whole days. He wanted it to fall out so the tooth fairy would come.
At breakfast, Jake tried to bite his toast. Ouch! The wiggly tooth hurt. Maybe I should just pull it out, he thought.
His big sister laughed. Don't be silly, she said. It will fall out when it is ready. Just be patient.
At school, Jake told his friend Marco about the tooth. Marco said, Tie a string to it and slam a door! That only works in cartoons, said Jake.
During lunch, Jake bit into his apple. Pop! Something small and hard was in his mouth. His tooth had finally come out!
Jake ran to show his teacher. She gave him a small treasure box to keep it safe. All his classmates clapped and cheered for him.
That night, Jake put the tiny tooth under his pillow. He was so excited he could barely sleep. He tossed and turned for a long time.
In the morning, Jake found a shiny gold coin under his pillow. The tooth fairy came! he shouted, running to show his mom and dad.
