Leo, Maya, and Sam decided to build a treehouse in the big oak tree in Leo's backyard. They drew plans on a big piece of paper.

Leo's dad helped them with the hard parts. He cut the wood and nailed the floor. The kids painted the walls bright blue and green.

When it was done, they climbed up the ladder and looked around. We can see the whole neighborhood from up here! Maya said.

They made a sign that said The Treehouse Club. They made up a secret password too. Only members could come inside.

Every day after school, they would meet in the treehouse. Sometimes they read books. Sometimes they played card games.

One day, a new girl named Priya moved in next door. She looked lonely sitting on her porch by herself all afternoon.

Can Priya join our club? asked Maya. The others agreed right away. They ran over and invited her up to the treehouse.
