A new boy named Marco started at school on a Monday. He sat alone at the back of the class.
At recess, everyone ran outside to play. Marco stayed near the wall by himself.
Jasmine noticed him. She walked over and said, Do you want to play with us?
Marco shrugged. I do not know anyone here yet, he said quietly.
That is okay! said Jasmine. You did not know me five minutes ago. Now you do!
Marco smiled a little. They ran to join the others. Jasmine introduced him to everyone.
By the end of recess, Marco was laughing with the group like he had been there forever.
Walking back inside, Marco said, Thank you. That was the best recess I ever had.
